Mid-terms coming... =(
Posted on Tuesday, 30 September 2008

It had been a long time since I last blogged... Ever since I stopped doing camps, I don't really have the feeling to want to blog. Anyway, thanks to my campers who still visit my blog. I know your EOYs are coming, so must jiayou k? "Do your best, while God will do the rest" =)

My mid-term exams are coming soon, Critical Thinking this Friday and Public Relations next Thursday. It means that I must start mugging hard already, especially this is my 2ND LAST semester le... Hope my results will turn out well.

I really want to pursue a Diploma in Public Relations/Diploma in Marketing Communications, offered by Institute of Public Relations Singapore and Institute of Advertising Singapore respectively. Each course is 11 months long, but it will clash with my family holiday next year in May/June, when my parents said they will bring my sister and I to Europe/America for 1 month. I'm super looking forward to the trip as I can FINALLY visit Europe/America, and also visit the HOPE churches there! =))) With regards to the course, I think I will just take up the course when I come back from my family holiday.

I really do not know whether I want to work in an advertising agency/public relations firm. Both seem attractive to me, but public relations seems to appeal to me more... 8 more months to graduation, which will pass by in a blink of an eye. Must start planning in December le, or else TOO LATE. Haha! No matter what happens, I know God has a plan for me already. =)

Movie-packed Weekend
Posted on Monday, 22 September 2008

I watched the movie "Mama Mia" with Cheryl and Desmond, which is a pretty neat and good musical after the movie "Hairspray". The songs sung in the movie are very entertaining and very retro, which got Desmond into Mambo mode. Haha! It was also nice catching up with Cheryl and Desmond, ever since Desmond got into NTU and Cheryl busy with her own stuff, meeting up has came to a minimum as compared to the maximum in the past when we were still doing camps together. Really miss the times doing camps... =(((
I watched the movie "Mirrors" with my church people: LiYi, Michelle, Maurice, Jesline and Justin. Anyway, the movie really has a good plot, and it's really worth a watch, minus away the gory scenes. Haha! Saturday was also a very special day for Justin, as he had decided to accept Christ into his life. I'm so happy for him man! Besides that, with the addition of Justin, the guys in my CG has increased to 6 already!! There are definitely more to come! =)))

Tomorrow is 15th of September; whereby SUPPOSEDLY, I'm going to get my 1st pay from the events company I'm working for. But apparently, my boss is not going to pay me. Initially, I asked whether I need to be at office, then she said don't need. Then when I go and ask her about the pay, she said that actually she needed someone to be always at the office and at the beck and call of her. How contradictory can she get?!? Haiz! Initially, I still feel that my boss is really a very nice person, but apparently, do not judge things by its covers. Thinking about it... I only have about 8 months to graduation, and my mummy said I should just concentrate on studying and scoring good grades. Finding a job should be left to a few months prior to graduation. I am indeed sad that I worked for FREE for the month of August, but no matter what, like what my daddy said, I did gained 1 month of experience.

Anyway, every Friday will be my Ultimate Frisbee day. Initially, it's just me and Pram. Now my church brother, Shawn, is joining us next Friday too! Super excited!!! Hope can have more people joining us, as the more people play Ultimate Frisbee, the more fun it is!

Today volunteered to go down to help Hope Centre's Youth Day event. It's a frisbee event. My job and Benson's job is to be timekeeper and scorekeeper. We were so-called umpires for 10 matches man! Super tiring, cos DON"T have chairs for us to sit, so we were standing all the way. Imagine 1 match=20 minutes, so just calculate how many minutes we were standing, not forgetting when the players dilly-dally and injury time too. Although it was tiring, we still had fun, as I bought a frisbee (the $ goes to Hope Centre fund), and it was super hilarious when me and Benson started playing the frisbee. Haha! Especially by doing this, it's just my little way of serving Him. =)

Service was good today. A leader from the Filipino group of Hope Church came to preach, and I got to say he really has the charisma on stage. I was especially touched by one of the quotes he got from reading the book called "God Chaser": When you chase after God, everything else will chase after you. At times, when we do not place God in the centre of everything we do, we will end up not achieving what we really want. Up till now, I'm always fascinated and refreshed from reading the Word of God=Bible! It's because the sayings inside are so meaningful; and the best part is although some of the sayings inside we know that they are wrong, but we as humans, still go ahead and commit the mistakes. Therefore, I feel that the Bible is really a very COOL book, especially it's the ONLY publication in the WORLD that has been republished into the MOST number of languages. =)
