CHA Camps Update~~~
Posted on Friday, 25 January 2008

Hey all! This is already the 2nd week of school... but I still dun have the study mood... haiz! Anyway, juz give a brief update of the camps I did during the holidays:-

17th-18th Dec'07

This is a MCYS (Ministry of Community, Youth and Sports) camp at JBAC. The best part of the camp is that all the campers USED to be from Boy's and Girl's homes. Initially, I was pretty demoralized as I thought the bunch of kids will be damn hard to manage due to their backgrounds, but after the campfire, it really made me change my mind a lot and I really enjoyed myself during camp. In addition, this was the FIRST CHA camp whereby I had only FOUR campers in my group, cool right? Haha! =) For the boys and girls in the MCYS camp, please be obedient and walk the correct way, and not the wrong way as it is not fun as you all know. =)

3th-5th Jan'08

This is the East View Sec 3 camp at St John's Island. The best part is that it is the same bunch of students from the Sec 2 batch I took last year, and it is also my 1st time doing camp at St John's Island. When I reached school on the 1st day, I was very touched that the majority of the campers still remembered me as Instructor Potato, especially for the guys as they had a very negative impression of me for what I had done to them last year. I was quite sad as those campers I wanted to see was not there as most of them took MC just to escape from camp. SAD! Anyway, I still enjoyed camp a lot, as the campfire at night was really a BANG! as compared to last year's.

7th-9th Jan'08

This is the Zhong Hwa Sec 3 camp at JBAC. This camp is very nice as my campers are very nice to me and respect me a lot. There was this particular camper in my group called Belvin who still left a deep impression in me because he always like "ehh!" every 5-10min. Haha! The best part was that my lao por aka Jaclyn agreed to come in and helped me out, as I'm doing back-to-back for the week. Overall, the campfire was a BANG!, as the campers were AUTOMATIC and very HIGH! In addition, it was the 1st time I co-host a campfire in CHA, together with Ian =)

9th-11th Jan'08

This is the ACS Barker Sec 1 camp at JBAC, the camp RIGHT after Zhong Hwa camp. Any normal human will have passed out and die at JBAC, but thanks to Red Bull (silver-blue can), I was recharged and 'took' on another group of boys. The camp went on smoothly, whereby me and Hsien Chuan were really taxed to the max as the rest of the instructors are all new instructors. Overall, the camp was FUN! And I got to know MeiQi, the 'black' cute mei mei =)

Besides the camps I did abovementioned, I also went in for Fu Hwa Sec, Marymount Convent and CHIJ TP Pri campfires. I co-hosted again with Ian for Fu Hwa Sec campfire, which was good too! =) As for Marymount Convent, I went in with my lao por (who pangsehed halfway cos she went to watch movie) to visit Jolene (who did back-to-back), and to give Chief Eunice a surprise cos got quite some time never see her le.. Me and Jeremy aka Hor Heh managed to team up and rara-ed the girls up, which was surprisingly good as Eunice told me that the teachers even asked her whether me and Jeremy got rehearse before starting the rara session. ZAI man! Haha! As for the CHIJ TP Pri campfire, I teamed up with Veron and managed to put up a GOOD show! =) The girls were really cute and supportive towards me, despite only seeing me for that night.

I think I should suggest another position in CHA, emcee for campfire. Haha! Cos I really enjoyed every moment of it, and I can confidently say this:

Being a camp instructor/facilitator is really my passion for now... Cos within 3d2n, I can make a difference to those I had in contact with during camp. =)
